ATX Smart Homes has spent 10 years designing and installing smart home systems for Austin homeowners and light commercial clients. We’re a small, tech-forward team that likes things done right: clean installs, clear documentation, and clients who actually know how to use what we built.
The role
You’ll run residential projects from signed proposal to client handoff, and you’ll keep clients, builders, trades, and our install team on the same page. The scope is flexible. We’ll build the role around your strengths (new construction, remodels, or service work), and you can grow into owning scheduling, procurement, budgets, and change orders.
What you’ll do
- Coordinate with builders, GCs, electricians, and other trades on schedules, pre-wire, and trim-out
- Help build proposals and estimates, and scope work accurately
- Schedule and track jobs, procurement, and equipment readiness
- Manage client communication, expectations, and change orders
- Make sure every job ends with complete documentation: as-builts, network diagrams, IP/VLAN schemes, programming backups, and a client handoff packet
- Run your projects in our tools: our field ops app, QuickBooks, Slack, and Dropbox
What we’re looking for
- Project coordination or management experience in smart home, low-voltage, AV, security, or construction
- Working knowledge of home automation and networking (Control4, Savant, Lutron, Josh.ai, UniFi or similar)
- Comfortable reading plans and talking to builders, electricians, and homeowners
- Organized, communicative, and good at following through
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; background check required
- Able to visit job sites, including attics and crawlspaces, and lift 50+ lbs at times
Nice to have
- Experience writing estimates or proposals
- Experience with construction PM software
- CEDIA, Control4, Savant, or Lutron training or certification
